My Journey

Where it started …

Roughly 13 years ago, I met an incredible chiropractor, who I am now lucky to call a friend. She introduced me to the whole-body approach to wellness. Once I started to understand how the four parts of wellness: physical, mental, spiritual, and nutrition were interrelated, the more I craved learning about health and wellness. This connection planted the seed to change my trajectory of being more in line with passion.

But my story starts a bit further back. Believe it or not, I was a tomboy as a child. Once I hit my teen years, however, I was afraid to break a sweat in gym class. (I mean it did take me two hours to do my hair every morning. No dry shampoo in those days!) I had the physicality for sports but never participated in anything in school. Fear gripped me that much.

My first love of exercise happened in a Health 101 class in college. Our class went for a walk on a nature trail around campus, and that's when something inside me clicked. I was instantly connected with how it made my body and mind feel.  I haven’t stopped moving since.

Many people do not enjoy exercise or working out. However, it is my therapy, where I find stress relief. Plus, it is good for you! It is essential to look at exercise from a new perspective, not work, but pleasure. I am sure that pleasure is not the first word that comes to mind for most of you; however, if you find something you love, that is your movement to create pleasure. #physical

I have had horrible gut issues my whole life and was born with a rare anomaly of my reproductive organs. These gut issues were treated with typical medications, pain relievers, or some special syrup to drink. NO ONE ever said, "Let’s try a diet high in fiber or anti-inflammatory foods.” #nutritional

I love me some Jesus! My connection with him through faith, as well as being in tune with my own body and mind, are essential for my wellness. He encourages me and has blessed me in so many ways. He also tells me to BE STILL! That is a really hard one for me but when I am I can hear him loud and clear. I want to encourage others to live positive, mentally healthy, wellness-filled lives and to find their best selves. #spiritual

Finally, I love all things psychology or therapy related. I've had great therapists over the years, and they are the reasons I have always wanted to have a connection with people like you. I want to encourage you, show you how strong you are underneath all that self-doubt, and give you a safe place to tell your story or work through issues that are keeping you stuck. #mental

Change happens … but we can embrace it.

We all know that our bodies change over time, but is anyone prepared for what that means?  I know I wasn’t and I’m still navigating through it with the help of a physician who takes a holistic approach.  Most providers simply tell us it is normal or prescribe something for the symptoms instead of helping us understand what our bodies are trying to say.

This change not only made me rethink how I wanted to progress on my wellness journey but it also opened up another door that showed me where the next chapters in my life where calling me.  To not only help myself live a longer, healthier life but work alongside others who want to take this journey with me.

That’s where you come in.

You see, one of the things that I have known for a long time is that I love people – I love pouring into people. Encouraging those around me gave me fuel; it gave me purpose. I realized I had a knack for bringing light to others, which improved my life.

I continue to strive to help others every day by learning something new, taking various classes, feeding my body with nutrient-rich foods, providing my brain knowledge, and allowing for creativity.  My mind and body crave stimulation and learning; they like being pushed.  These traits, as well as the joy I get meeting new people, keep me aligned, and they allow me to help people just like you find the missing factors to add to your equation.
