Luck is believing you are Lucky!
Some of us are born with good genes but still feel like our jeans are too tight. We don’t realize how lucky we are that we can choose what outfit to wear today or what meal to fix. You can choose to turn the heat up or down on the furnace. Better yet, you can try to decide where you would like to go this year on vacation. Many of us are gifted the opportunity of choice! We can choose which gym to go to or if we just want to go for a walk. Some of us might get to tuck our kiddos into bed every night knowing everyone is safe. WE ARE SO LUCKY and we don’t realize how much we take for granted. Every day we desire more, we try to fulfill the want or the what if. We don’t stop to see where we are, how far we have come or just sit in the WOW of the NOW!
I have been struggling to figure out how to hit my macros every day, to get stronger, to become lean, or to do a muscle up! Then I heard a voice in my head saying, do you realize some people don’t even know where their next meal is coming from OR if one is even coming AND THIS IS what you are focused on? Let us regroup, I always find the positive in things, so let’s look at all of the blessings you have been given. You can breathe, you’re healthy, you have all your senses, and your daily needs are being met! You can touch, taste, hear, smell, speak, feel and your brain is fully functioning (well 😉). I can walk, pay bills, get a good night sleep and most days I do not have stress or much to worry about except my baby girl! I have a roof over my head, clean clothes and sheets, a car to get me places, money for gas, insurance, clean water. My home has a stove, washer and dryer, hot water, oven, and refrigerator to make life a little easier! I only like to wash my hair twice a week, even though at times that feels like too much, thank goodness for dry shampoo because it takes a long time to dry this mop, but I need to remember I am blessed with a lot of hair! I have totally lost my chest but hey it was not due to health issues, and I am learning to accept myself the way I am.
After writing this I saw a post on IG, it said “Women who are “lucky” do the following!
Have uncomfortable conversations.
Do scary things.
Make their health a priority.
Say no to distractions.
Workout.
Learn.
Take risks.
Get rejected.
Yes, I have worked hard, I have made my health a priority, I have done scary things, I am regimented, I have been rejected but I am so grateful because it has put me where I am today. Living my best life! I have great friends, a fabulous daughter and family. I have been diligent, pulled my weight, put in the hours and done the work but at the end of the day we do not realize how lucky we truly are to have been given the opportunities that we have been given. My faith is what has pulled me through, but my faith is also what teaches me that we have more than we deserve and are blessed beyond measure. Faith is believing that even through the tough times, the unanswered prayers, the unmet needs or desires of our hearts, the false hopes, we are lucky!
My friend added some amazing quotes to this blog…
What if fear of wrong is stopping you from seeing how much you are doing right? @goodenoughmamas
